According to legends, there was a civilization on the Moon which was ruled by Queen Serenity. This was during the Silver Millenium, a time of great peace. When the Negaverse/Dark Kingdom and Queen Beryl tried to take over, there was much warfare. Queen Serenity was able to defeat them by trapping the seven great warriors of the Negaverse inside the Silver Imperial Crystal. Her daughter, Princess Serenity/Serena, and some of the Moon guardians lost their lives in this tragic battle, but Queen Serenity was able to reincarnate them as Earthlings. Unfortunately, Queen Serenity lost her life as well. Two Moon cats,Luna and Artemis, were sent to restore their Senshi powers. Many people have heard of them as the Sailor Senshi with Sailor Moon/Princess Serena leading them. I had dreamt of becoming a Senshi for a few months before I met my cat Selena. I had believed that the legend was just a story until that fateful day when learned of my destiny.
I am Sailor Scorpio, defender of the Earth and Scorpio. I am also Neo Princess Meredith of Italy. Friends call me Meri. My twin sister is Sailor Italy, also a defender of the Earth and Italy. She is Neo Princess Cassandra of Italy. I think she deserves to be the Queen because she has actually lived there almost all of her life. Well, her destiny has her as the future Queen of Italy, but we are both representatives of Earth in Princess Serenity's court. We are also the long-lost younger sisters of Prince Endymion. We were both in New York, but our parents separated. My mother kept me, and my father brought Cassi to Italy. She is a very prominent person as our father is a Senator of the Italian parliament. I, on the other hand, an just your everyday average teen -- well, maybe not so everyday averaged, but I'm not famous in that way.
The day I met Selena I was walking home from the Italian deli after buying suplies to make Tiramisu, an absolutely delicious Italian dessert. As I turned the corner of Atlantic Blvd. and State Road 7, a light blue almost periwinkle colored cat darted in front of me. This intrigued me since it's not natural to come across a BLUE cat, and I picked her up. That's when she began to speak.
"I'm Selena, a cat of the moon. I've been searching for you for weeks. I'm so glad I found you," she said to me.
"Did you just talk?!" I exclaimed in astonishment.
"Yes, I did. All moon cats can talk. Now, I have come to tell you about your Senshi responsibility, but I'm sure it looks pretty silly for you to be talking to me outside in front of all those people. I'll tell you more later."
This was quite an amazement, and hearing the words "your Senshi responsibility" only added to my confusion. I took Selena home with me, and once inside I asked her what she meant by Senshi.
"You are Sailor Scorpio, one of the Sailor Senshi. You are a Senshi. Queen Serenity sent you and six other Sailor Soldiers to Earth. There are many senshi throughout the universe, though."
"I'm a Sailor Scout?! Wow, this is so phat! I've day-dreamed about being a Sailor Scout, but I never thought that I... wait a minute, I thought there were only five other Senshi sent from the Moon Kingdom. Whose the sixth?"
"The sixth soldier is your twin sister Cassandra. She is Sailor Italy. You don't knowabout her because you were separated soon after birth. she lives in Italy with your father who is now a senator of the Italian parliament."
"Oh my god! I never knew I had a twin sister. I can't believe my mother never told me about her. So, what exactly am I suppose to do? Do I get to meet the other Sailor Scouts?"
"Of course you do! First, we have to find your sister, then go to Tokyo. Once we're there, the soldiers will train you for battle. The Negaverse is still around, and they don't seem to be getting any smaller."
"Well, if I'm going to go, my mother has to know the truth. I'd feel too guilty just leaving. I am allowed to tell her, right?"
"Well... I... go on ahead, but she must promise not to tell anyone else. This is a secret."
"Agreed."
That evening, Selena and I told my mother the story, and we all agreed that I should go find Cassi and the Sailor Senshi. I promised my mother that I would return as soon as I could, and that I wouldn't let her down. Before I went to bed, Selena gave me a necklace which I use to transform into Sailor Scorpio, attack the enemies, and disguise myself. Selena told me how to use it, and after discussed how we would get to Italy. We decided that if I disguised myself to ride the plane, we could make it there quickly and inexpensively. Around 11 o'clock, we fell asleep, resting for the day ahead.
Our plans worked out perfectly, and we arrived in Rome, Italy safely. Disguised as a cat, I was able to see the world from Selena's point of view. The next day, we found out what time school ended, and it was also the last day of school. After Cassi's all-girl Catholic school was over, Selena and I found her walking home with a friend. I asked her politely if she could help me. She agreed, said good-bye to her friend, and commented on how I looked just like her. I told her that I was American, and that I was looking for my long-lost twin sister, Cassandra. She looked at me in shock, and told me that her name was Cassandra. That's when Selena started talking again. Cassi jumped when she heard Selena talk, but after awhile she wasn't so scared. She was just as surprised as I had been. Selena gave Cassi her necklace.
We went to her house, and she introduced me to our father, who was happy to finally meet his other daughter. We talked to him about us being Sailor Soldiers, with Selena backing up our story (and almost causing our father to pass out). He gave us permission to travel to Tokyo, and told us how proud he was. He gave us his word that he wouldn't tell anyone about our secret. This is where my actual adventure began as a Sailor Senshi...
After receiving my boarding pass for the flight from Rome to Tokyo, Cassi and I brought our luggage and Selena to be boarded. Selena didn't like the idea of traveling in a crate, but cats aren't allowed in the passengers's section of the plane. Our father hugged us and wished us the best of luck for the mission which Cassi and I were about to embark. The flight attendants began to board the passengers on to the plane. We arrived in Tokyo around 10 P.M. We were going to find Rei at the Cherry Hill Temple. Rei is Sailor Mars, and even though she loses her temper easily, she is a very sweet person. Just don't get on her bad side. Selena told us to wait until the morning. I was glad because after traveling for four days and losing hours, I was pretty tired. Cassi, Selena, and I checked into a hotel. Much to our surprise, they spoke English. I slept good that night.
The journey was almost over, and the pit in my stomach was growing bigger by the minute. We set off for the temple at noon. A short, old man greeted us at the door. He is Rei's grandfather. We asked for Rei, and he called her to the door. She asked how she could help us, and we let Selena do the talking at first.
"Hello, Rei. I am Selena. Luna and Artemis should remember me. The two Sailor Soldiers we were looking for are here with me now. I would like you to meet Sailor Scorpio and Sailor Italy. Call them Meri and Cassi," Selena explained.
"It's nice to meet you!" Rei cheerily answered. "I'll call the others, and we'll explain what's going on with the Negaverse. I'm glad you came because we could really use some more help. It's not looking good."
"I'm so nervous. This is the first time I've traveled out of my home country. Even out of the time zone I live in. I'll get use to it though," I told Rei.
"Don't worry. Tokyo is a pretty nice place to live. Without the Negaverse, that is," Rei assured me.
"She's right. I've been here once before with Papa, and we got to see a lot of cool things. I think you'll like it," Cassi commented.
Rei used her communicator to call the other scouts, who rushed over right away. Sailor Moon, or Princess Serenity, or Serena as she prefers for Cassi and I to call her, was especially estatic. We had something really big in common -- our huge appetites! We both love food. Luna gave Cassi and I our communicators and instructed us on how to use them. They told us who we would be fighting -- Queen Hecate and her evil followers, who had once been allied with the deceased Queen Beryl. We would be up against great numbers of warriors from the Negaverse. Some had chosen to be healed by Sailor Moon, but some had to be destroyed.
Rini, Serena, Ami, Lita, Mina, Rei, Hotaru, Michelle, Amarah, and Trista had been able to hold them off, however they needed our help to defeat them. Hotaru, Michelle, Amarah, and Trista are the outer senshi, and they weren't at the meeting. Rini is Sailor Chibi Moon, Serena's daughter from the future. Neo-Queen Serenity sent her back to the past so she could train to defend Crystal Tokyo. Crystal Tokyo is the future city of Tokyo in the year 3000. I'll be around then as the Princess of Earth, Sailor Scorpio, and one of the defenders of the Earth. This is what Rei was able to predict, and Rini also told us about Neo-Queen Serenity being very friendly with the two Princesses of Earth.
Now that we were all present at the meet, except for the outer senshi, Rei served us green tea and Japanese cookies that Lita made.
"These are great, Lita!" I complimented.
Aren't they the best?! They're so yummy!" Serena exclaimed as she bit into a rather large cookie.
"Thanks. I'm glad you like them. They're my specialty," Lita smiled.
"So, how are we supposed to find the enemy?" I asked.
"Well, none of us are really sure yet," Serena told me.
"Hmmmm, I guess we have to do some major researching, but I don't know...," I commented. "That seems pretty interesting."
"We may find out sooner then you think. I'm getting bad vibes. I think the Negaverse knows that we have two new scouts," Rei interrupted.
"So, we maybe fighting pretty soon, as in today?" Cassi questioned.
"I think so," Luna replied.
"The senshi had to train us really quickly. They taught us how to use our powers, and how to use our powers together as a team. Rei taught a few quick martial arts moves incase we needed them. Cassi and I learned how we could use our crystal necklaces to transform, disguise, and attacked. It took only ten or fifteen minutes, and then we had to run to the center of the city. The Negaverse was attacking again!
Eris, the current villian who was fighting against us, was wrecking havoc on the city's center. We got down there and Sailor Moon started her speech, which is not much of a surprise. Eris laughed at her, then commented about Cassi and I.
"I see you've got two new silly scouts," Eris remarked snidely. "No matter, I'll destroy you all."
"In your dreams! You're going to wish you had never come up against the Sailor Senshi!" I bravely answered back.
"Ha! It is you who lives in a dream world. Prepare to meet your end."
She called forth one of her monsters to attack us. We attacked it, and Sailor Moon used her Moon Sceptor to destroy it. Eris was enraged by this. She used her powers to form a stun ray to injure one of us. No one was hit by it, but it struck a tree, which burst into flames. This scared me a bit. All of a sudden, Metus, Eris's little boyfriend, appeared behind Cassi and me. He grabbed Cassi, since she was closer, and then he disappeared with her. Eris laughed hideously, and she too disappeared into the night. Of all the scouts they could have taken, Cassi was the one they took. We didn't know why then, but later on we found out back at Rei's.
"They took her because it has been forseen that you and Cassi have a special power which they want to use against us," Rei confirmed.
"What kind of a power?" I asked.
"I don't know, but whatever it is, you've got to discover it soon to get Cassi back."
"But how are we suppose to rescue her anyway if she's with the Negaverse. We can't just wait like we did that time when they kidnapped Darien," Serena stated. "We could go to the Drak Kingdom, but how are we going to do that?"
"I've got a plan," I suggested. "First, we track down where they are. Second, we go out there, then we attack. The only problem is getting there, but I'm sure Ami can figure out a way in with those hi-tech gadgets she has."
"Great idea!" Mina congradulated.
"I couldn't have said it better," Lita added.
"I supposed I could give it a try on my computer," Ami said. "It could take a while, though."
"As long as we find her," Luna said.
At this point I was so scared for my sister's life. I began to have a swelling of emotions growing inside me -- sadness for my sister's absense, fear for my own life, and an intense dislike for the Dark Kingdom. I didn't know what to do, but I was trying not to let my emotions take control of my actions. The scouts began to console me, as they could see tears welling up in my eyes. One thing was on my mind -- JUSTICE!
Ami found how to get to the Drak Kingdom, and how we would be undetected. After she explained the plan, we all agreed that was a good idea. We set out to find Queen Hecate and her demons. I wanted vengence for the injustice which had befallen Cassi, and I would stop at nothing to make sure they were all punished starting with Metus and Eris. All of the ten other remaining scouts along with Tuxedo Mask were with me as we headed towards Queen Hecate's palace. As we approached, the sky grew darker and the terrain looked more and more dismal by the minute. I shuddered as I walked past an old tree which looked as though it possessed evil spirits. Then, there it was just beyond the brush.
Eris was talking to Cassi when we peered into a window. My blood began to boil with rage.
"What is this great power that you possess? You can't keep it a secret forever, brat!" Eris shrieked at poor Cassi.
"I don't know what you're talking about. What power? I didn't learn about any powers that I had," Cassi defended.
"Don't play stupid with me! Don you know who you're talking to?!"
"I'm being honest. I never learned anything like that," Cassi calmly responded.
"I'll be back in an hour to tell you what Queen Hecate plans to do with you."
It was hard for me to stay hidden that whole time. As soon as Eris left the room, Ami scanned it for traps. Nothing bad was picked up, so Sailor Moon, Sailor Chibi Moon, Sailor Mars, Sailor Jupiter, and I entered through the window. Sailor Italy was glad to see us. We couldn't get her out, though, because she was being held by a force field. Sailor Mercury came in to see if we could destroy it. She destroyed it all on her own, but Metus heard the noise and came into the room. That's where all the trouble started.
We each fired our powers at him, but he wasn't even scratched. Eris came back into the room. Now my anger was hotter than ever, and I could feel my emotions taking control of me. My aura began to glow emerald, my normally hazel eyes turned as green as grass, my hair began to fly around as if it were being blown by wind, and my hairclips fell out. These words came out of my mouth.
"I call upon the powers of Scorpio, Italy, and the Earth." Eris was so frightened that she went to tell the Queen what was happening. The senshi thought I was being oppressed by the devil. Metus was scared, but he was quite foolish and stood there. The next thing I knew, I was speaking again.
"Scorpio Emerald Power!" I exclaimed. With that, a force field began to surround me and a great amount of energy began to streak towards Metus. He screamed out in pain as I directed all towards him. It was as if all the energy in the world was in my body, projecting towards him, and blasting the energy and life out of him. He fell to the floor and breathed for the last time. I collapsed onto the floor. When I awoke, the Sailor Senshi were standing around me. They were so happy to see me awake again.
"What did I just do?" I said. "That wasn't covered in basic training." We giggled, but it was interrupted by Eris returning. She screamed in anguish when she saw Metus's lifeless body. She was about to destroy us all, but I did it again! Where all that energy came from, I didn't know and I still don't know, but it worked. Eris met the same fate as Metus. That was the great power of which Cassi and I possessed. That's what the Negaverse was after. If they got a hold of our powers, they could destroy the Sailor Scouts and control the universe.
Queen Hecate then transformed the room into a dark, icey cave. We had to find our way out of there with out being destroyed by ice monsters first. We defeated all of the demons we came up against, and found our way to Queen Hecate in the main room of the palace. The lights went out. Torchs lit as if by magic, and a cold, malicious voice began to speak.
"So we meet at last Sailor Scouts. You have fought well. You destroyed my friend Queen Beryl, the Wiseman, Pharoah 90, the Dead Moon Circus, and Galaxia, and healed many people of the Negaverse, and destroyed my subjects. However, you shall now see the wrath of the Dark Kingdom for the last time." Then we were trapped inside a large dome, which began to shock us. I told Cassi to hold my hand and repeat what I told her to. Her aura began to glow red, her eyes turned cinnamon, and her hair flapped just as mine did. As we held hands, we said these words: "We call upon the powers of Scorpio, Italy, and the Earth." Next, I said, "Scorpio Emerald Power," and she said, "Italy Ruby Power." Then we said, "Earth Crystal Power," and a force twice as great as the one I had given off began to obliterate the giant dome.
This gave Sailor Moon and Sailor Chibi Moon a chance to use their Silver Crystals. The Sailor Scouts joined hands and began to generate a lot of energy in the same manner as Cassi and I did, but not as dramatic. Cassi and I kept our force field going. Queen Hecate tried to fight back, but her powers became weaker. Slowly, but surely, her power and energy began to give out on her. As she yelled in a loud, tormented scream, she began to disintergrate.
We were so happy. Sailor Moon looked like Princess Serenity, and much to our surprise, Cassi and I looked like Princesses. Cassi had a long, shiny lavendar strapless gown that laced up in the back, baring some of her skin, with a small crown upon her head. I had a matching rosy-pink gown and crown. Princess Serenity began to speak to us.
"You have proven yourselves worthy of special recognition. The two of you shall be the Twin Senshi of Earth. As the representatives of Earth in my court, I have faith in you and I'm quite sure that you shall serve the universe well."
"Thank you," Cassi and I replied. We were now considered great warriors of the universe. It was amazing how only a week ago I was just an everyday average teen girl, and now I was becoming a great warrior. Being a warrior is an immense responsibility, but I am hangling it well. It takes courage, intelligence, coordination, and determination to be a warrior of my standards. These days it is hard to find someone like that. The Sailor Scouts are warriors of this type, and if you could find someone more noble than the Sailor Scouts I would certainly like to meet them.
With Queen Hecate defeated, my sister and I prepared to go home. Serena and all of the other Sailor Scouts thanked us and wished us a safe journey. We returned to our homes. Selena and I told my mother about the battle, and she was so proud. I keep in touch with the scouts through mail, email, and our communitcators. I have found some really good friends, and I also found out who I am. This journey was an tremendous learning experience for me. This adventure is over. I can't wait for the next time I can travel to Tokyo to see my friends.
